NEW LITHIUM BATTERIES TECHNOLOGY AT JEKKO

Jekko's innovations in lithium battery technology offer a variety of advantages in terms of efficiency, safety and durability for our lifting equipments. 

 

Specifically the LFP (lithium iron phosphate) and NMC (lithium nickel manganese cobalt) battery systems.  

 

Comparison of LFP and NMC Technologies  

 

Lithium batteries have become a crucial component in the lifting industry due to their energy storage capacity and efficiency. The two main lithium battery technologies used by Jekko are:  

 

LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate):  

 

Advantages:

  • High security and thermal stability.
  • Long useful life. Greater mechanical safety.  

 

Disadvantages:

  • Lower energy density compared to NMC.

 

NMC (Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt):  

 

Advantages:

  • High energy density.
  • Fast charge.  

 

Disadvantages:

  • Less mechanically stable.
  • Increased risk of thermal leaks.  

 

Safety and Efficiency  

 

A crucial aspect of lithium batteries is safety. Jekko LFP batteries have a heat generation rate of only 1.5°C/min, making them safer for repairs and maintenance in the event of overheating, in contrast to NMC batteries which can generate up to 200°C/min under similar conditions.  

 

Intelligent Energy Management  

 

Jekko's Battery Management System (BMS) ensures that batteries maintain a 20% reserve, thereby extending battery life and preventing deep discharge. This intelligent system not only preserves the battery but also optimizes its daily performance.

 

 

Autonomy and life cycles

 

Jekko machines are designed to maximize energy efficiency with a Start&Stop system that ensures the pump only runs when necessary. This, together with the option of larger batteries in specific models such as the SPX532 and SPX650, allows for significantly greater range without increasing the weight of the machine.  

 

Recharge and Maintenance  

 

The batteries can be recharged using an onboard charger or an external charger, allowing for continued operational flexibility and efficiency. Additionally, Jekko lithium batteries require no regular maintenance, reducing costs and downtime compared to traditional batteries.  

 

Climatic Considerations  

 

The batteries are designed to operate in adverse weather conditions, with a minimum operating temperature of -10°C. For extreme conditions, a winter kit is available to keep the battery at optimal temperature and ensure the best performance.
